A site established to honor the actions of African American airmen during World War II, Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site contains a visitor center, a hangar and a scenic overlook. The visitor center, containing exhibits and videos related to these fearless men, offers a compelling image of their triumphs and difficulties during this war. During the weekend, special guided tours of the hangar museum can be arranged by prior appointment. This historic site is located at Moton Field Municipal Airport just north of Tuskegee, which sits about 40 east of Montgomery.
